Results of UAE at Cochin AP-HP

Uterine artery embolization (UAE) for fibroids has an extensive evidence base from randomised controlled trials (EMMY, REST, HOPEFUL) and real-world registries. At Cochin AP-HP, our results are consistent with international data:

Follow-up schedule

  • 3 months: clinical review, menstrual diary assessment, haemoglobin check if previously anaemic
  • 6 months: pelvic MRI to document fibroid volume reduction and endometrial cavity restoration
  • 12 months: final clinical assessment; discussion of further management if insufficient response
  • Beyond 1 year: annual gynaecological follow-up; MRI if new symptoms arise
