🏥 The department
The Radiology B department (Pr A. Feydy) at Cochin Hospital specialises in diagnostic and interventional imaging of the locomotor system, in close collaboration with the locomotor division: the Orthopaedics department (Pr P. Anract), the Rheumatology departments and the Department of Rehabilitation and Physical Medicine for the locomotor system and spinal disorders (Pr F. Rannou).
Created in July 1977, it has been headed successively by Pr G. Pallardy, Pr A. Chevrot and Pr J-L. Drapé. Alongside its hospital activity, the department provides numerous university courses (DU ICAL, Imagerie en Coupes de l'Appareil Locomoteur, the cross-sectional imaging of the locomotor system diploma; DIU in musculoskeletal interventional radiology, DIU de radiologie interventionnelle musculo-squelettique; DU in whole-body applied MRI, DU IRM appliquée corps entier) and continuing education, including the Cochin Hospital musculoskeletal radiology seminar, one of the very first courses devoted to imaging of the locomotor system.

- MRI of bone and soft-tissue sarcomas (diagnosis and follow-up: reference centre)
- MRI of joint prostheses (metal-reduction protocols)
- MRI of the nail, fingers and toes
- MRI of the peripheral nerves (neuro-MRI)
- MR arthrography: shoulder, hip, wrist, knee
Conventional radiography & EOS
- Musculoskeletal X-rays

Musculoskeletal ultrasound
- Joint, muscle and tendon ultrasound
- Ultrasound-guided injections (corticosteroids, hyaluronic acid)
- PRP: Platelet-Rich Plasma (knee, shoulder, Achilles tendon)
- Ultrasound-guided biopsies (soft tissue, bone)
- Drainage of collections (haematoma, cyst, bursitis)
